Dr. Adams is a Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of experience. After completing a master’s degree at the University of Houston he received his doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Western Seminary in Portland, OR. His internship in clinical psychology was completed at the Minirth-Meier Clinic in Dallas. At the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston he completed a post-doctoral fellowship in clinical child psychology. Dr. Adams practiced as a psychologist for ten years in Houston, Texas prior to moving to Missouri in 1999. Since that time he and his wife, Carolyn,have practiced in southwest Missouri. Services offered by Dr. Adams include psychological testing and psychotherapy with children, teens and adults.
Carolyn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with twenty-one years of experience in providing counseling to children, adolescents and adults using a holistic approach. She completed a master’s degree in clinical social work at the University of Houston. Carolyn specializes in working with children and families, Christian counseling, attachment issues, behavioral issues in children, adoption, parenting, abuse, and women’s issues. She has specialized training in working with children and families using play therapy. Carolyn is also a registered nurse.
Jennifer completed her M.S. in Counseling Psychology at Evangel University. She is a member of Alpha Chi (National College Honor Society), which invites the top 1% of students for membership. Jennifer completed her internship at Hope For Life Counseling, where she provided individual and family therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. She joined Cornerstone Counseling in July, 2012, where she is working under the supervision of Dr. Steve Adams.
Christy received her undergraduate degree from Christopher Newport University in Early Childhood Psychology. After completing her Bachelor degree she continued her education, receiving her Masters and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Regent University. For three years during her doctoral training she worked with children, adolescents and adults in individual and family sessions. After graduating, she moved to Georgia and worked at a therapeutic boarding school for two years as an Associate Director of Counseling. In 2007 she moved to Missouri where she furthered her experience working with adolescents and their families that struggle with attachment, trauma and mood regulation issues. She joined Cornerstone Counseling in 2013.
Diane is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over seven years of experience in Christian counseling of children, adolescents, and families. Diane completed her Master’s Degree at Webster University and is currently working on her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology with Walden University, where her focus of study is on attachments. Diane has been married for 18 years. She has three grown children and three grandchildren.
